Revenue of Brazil’s Construction Materials Industry Shows Annual Growth in February

Despite Monthly Contraction, Sector Maintains Growth Forecast for 2025

The revenue of the construction materials industry in Brazil grew by 1.6% in February 2025, compared to the performance of the same month in the previous year. However, there was a 2.2% decrease in the sector’s revenue compared to January 2025. The Brazilian Association of Construction Materials Industry (Abramat) maintained its forecast of 2.8% growth for the sector’s revenue in the accumulated of 2025.

The data, released this Tuesday (18th), comes from the Abramat Índice survey, prepared by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) based on data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

Analysis by the President of Abramat

“The February data shows a natural fluctuation in the sector’s revenue, with a slight return of the growth recorded in January. However, when we analyze the annual comparison, we observe that the construction materials industry continues on a positive trajectory, with a growth of 1.6% compared to February 2024,” highlighted the president of Abramat, Rodrigo Navarro.

Performance of Segments

In the second month of 2025, the revenue of basic construction materials showed a retraction of 0.8% compared to January and an increase of 1.4% when compared to February last year. On the other hand, finishing materials recorded a decrease of 3.6% in revenue compared to January and an expansion of 1.8% compared to February 2024.
